Join two datasets using Merge Join Tansformation

Preparing a dataset by joining two different datasets with key column  is very normal operation in the relational database environment. Dataset can be join using various join types such as Self, Inner, Outer, Cross join and learn more about join.

We can use SSIS task Merge Join to implement join datasets.

Merge Join Transformation

Merger Join takes two sorted datasets as input and implement join operation to produce single output dataset.

We can perform inner join, left outer join and full outer join. learn more about Merge Join Transformation.

Implementation

In this example, I will be using adventureworks database with ProductCategory and ProductSubCategory tables in the Production schema.

I will using Merge join transformation with inner join type to join the datasets to get the product information.

Implementation: (watch & learn method)
